the reason(s) for my life.
music, people, love, peace.
pure fulfillment.
it’s been three weeks since my last visit, due to no-shows, being busy, or being out of town, on both my part and theirs.
today was a great first-day back at Vive.
i met, and spoke with, two new people from the DRC.
then my four regulars came, too.
there were conversations flying back-and-forth, around and around.
[it was beautiful.]
we discussed a man who was “maladie” (sick), and “fou,” or going “crazy,” as they said. “what should we do?,” they asked. what would I do if i were them? needless to say, i did not know. “je ne sais pas,” i replied. laughter ensued.
we discussed God, creationism and evolution.
we discussed language.
and my personal favorite: we looked at tons of old photos of one of the refugees.
it was magical; i loved every second of it.

bottom line: United States, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burma, China, Pakistan, Mexico, wherever, it doesn’t matter.
we are all people.
we are one people.

i love people, and i love life.

i love you all.
life.
i’m officially 21.
the past 20/21 (depending on how you look at it) years have been wonderful, and i’m anxious to see what the next 20 will hold.
life is the greatest gift of all.

“One Love” by Hootie & The Blowfish
Sun shines on the horizon
Over two young lovers
While it,s going down
Somewhere the same sun rises
On another two lovers
As the world goes around
Same scene
Played over and over
Same sweet passion
Same warm blood
Sofly speaking the universal language
So many lovers
One love
One love
Might make a difference
Might take the walls and tear em down
One light might keep on shining
If we take on love
And we spread it around
Old religions
New generations
Calling a struggle about old righteous ways
Can,t see the forest for all the frustrations
Too many lying
So many dying
But only one love
One love
Might make a difference
Might take the walls and tear em down
One light might keep on shining
If we take on love
And we spread it around
Too many stories
With a common thread
Too many roads untraveled
All leads to the same end
Same scene
Plays over and over now
Same young passion
Same red blood
Universal language goes unspoken
Too much hatred
Too much hatred now
But only one love
One love
Might make a difference
Might take the walls and tear em down
One light might keep on shining
If we take one love
And we spread it around
Sun shines on the horizon
Over two young lovers while it,s going down
people are beautiful.
everyone is beautiful.
but i’m a brown-hair, brown-eyed type of guy.
in thought, i’m not interested in blondes or blue eyes.
ultimately, however, it depends on the person: their physical beauty AND their soul.
(does this make me shallow?)
a box of crayons.
a lot of you responded/replied/liked/etc my post, “audacious.”
let’s all be more outgoing. and my idea of outgoing does not mean changing who you are so that you are more approachable by people, or going up to everyone and attempting to make conversation.
my idea certainly includes the above, but more importantly, it means that we are taking risks and being vulnerable in such a way that we are true to ourselves. i think that we are each entitled to be free to be who we are. we should not pretend to be another, for as the saying going, that’s to miss out on the person we truly are.
being yourself is being vulnerable. to me that’s a huge risk.
i hope we are all able to live our lives as who we truly are.
on tumblr we are all able to be ourselves, as we are “hiding” behind a screen.
and in response, i have fallen in love with you all. you’re all beautiful people.
we are all beautiful people.
so what’s to fear? be that same person in “real” life.
carry that confidence with you into personal encounters.
let’s begin today, tumblrs.
own who you are.
be who you are.
love who you are.

i love you all.
every single day.
you inspire me.
you inspire me.
you inspire me.
(repeat times infinity.)
you all inspire me.
connect?
who wants to chat???
my AIM is: tjatke07
i love to meet new people, of all types (gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, etc—seriously).
feel free, please, to connect with me!
face-to-face utopia.
i need a change—a personal change.
i will not change my interests, passions and overall personality.
but i need to tweak a few things.
being on tumblr and twitter for some time now, i’ve realized that i’m able to be real outgoing and personable to people i have never met face-to-face.
this is okay, and not a bad thing.
however, if i can do it through an electronic piece of metal, why can’t i do it in person, with real people, in real time, face-to-face?
i really do love people. they—YOU—are all so fascinating. i love seeing what you post and getting to know you all post by post.
how about i take the time to be more outgoing with personal encounters, when i see and meet people throughout my daily activities?
people are fascinating. everyone has a story—a unique story. i’d love to know everyone’s.
besides, by taking the time to learn about everyone’s interests, beliefs, stories and the like, i’m taking the time to understand them and their past/present/and maybe future.
once i begin to understand them, i’m able to put myself in their position and look at life through the perspective of another.
by doing to, i’m helping to plant seeds of peace.
and i’m also taking the time to love others.
sounds like the way to utopia…care to join me?
