  2. Heartbreak opens onto the sunrise

    For even breaking is opening

    And I am broken

    I’m open

See the love shine in through my cracks

See the light shine out through me

    My spirit takes journey

    My spirit takes flight

    And I am not running

    I am choosing

    I am broken

    I am broken open

    Breaking is freeing

    Broken is freedom

    I am not broken

    I am free.

  7. are you gay? :)

    love does not need labels.

    i’m human.
    and i’m free.

    i’m love.
    and love is free.

and therefore i’m free to love as i please.

love has no gender, identity or orientation.

    love is love.

our society’s desire and emphasis on individuality…it’s these labels and divisions and the constant need to want to group people together into categories by differences, that leads to discrimination and hate.

i’m all for owning who you are and being who you are, but when it comes to love…you can’t put a define, classify, tag or stamp it.

    love is love.

    and love is beautiful.

    :)

p.s. who are you mr[s]. anonymous???

  8. “shed a little light”

“Let us turn our thoughts today
    To martin luther king
And recognize that there are ties between us
    All men and women
    Living on the earth
    Ties of hope and love
    Sister and brotherhood
    That we are bound together
In our desire to see the world become
A place in which our children
    Can grow free and strong
    We are bound together
By the task that stands before us
And the road that lies ahead
We are bound and we are bound”

  9. intensity.

today at vive, you could feel the intensity.

it was all respectful, but, again, very intense.

we talked about peace, religion and women’s rights.

then we began discussing the Bible, and drawing from it’s infinite wisdom.

one begins to talk about how women should be obedient and subservient to men, especially in marriages.

i immediately objected. i said i respect your opinion and belief, and ability to live by God’s word, but i disagree.

no woman should have to be obedient to another man. no one should be obedient to anyone.

women deserve to be treated fairly, as an equal, with respect.

i honestly do not care what the Bible says with regards to that issue. i’m sorry.

i form my beliefs on the basic principles of the Bible, such as love and compassion, as well as how i was raised, what i know about the world, the morals i have, and take human rights into consideration.

while i respect the word of God, and those who are able to live by it, i can’t do it.

i personally feel that it’s out-of-date and that people take it too literally.

to me, the Bible should serve as a guide as to how to live, not a model as to how to live (if that makes any sense).

again, i’m not knocking anyone who’s religious and believes it/follows it, i just can’t bring myself to—especially when it says women should be obedient to men.

    it’s absurd.

any who…our two hour session ended well. they thanked me for coming, again, as well as stressed the need for the conversations to happen all over the world, where people can come together and peacefully and respectfully discuss such issues.

okay. i’m done. sorry if i ranted or offended anyone. [if i did, i apologize.] i just wanted to share my experience with others.

does anyone have any thoughts on this issue?

  10. a large dose inspiration.

“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if we only seek them with our eyes open.” [Javaharial Nehur]

“Do one thing everyday that scares you.” [Eleanor Roosevelt]

“Live in the sunshine. Swim in the sea. Drink the wild air.” [Emerson]

“Live in the present, launch yourself on every way, find eternity in each moment.” [Thoreau]

“To be a revolutionary, you have to be a human being. You have to care about people who have no power.” [Jane Fonda]

“All we ever have is the now. We gain experience from the past, but we can’t relive it, and we can hope for the future, but we don’t know if there is one.” [George Harrison]

“Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible.” [C. Maxim]
